LONDON (Reuters) – A road within the London suburb the place Freddie Mercury lived as an adolescent was renamed Freddie Mercury Shut on Monday at a ceremony attended by the late Queen frontman’s sister.

Their household moved to Feltham in west London after fleeing the revolution in Zanzibar in 1964.

Native authorities agreed to rename a part of Hanworth Street – the handle of the headquarters of the World Zoroastrian Group. Mercury was born a Zoroastrian and practiced the traditional faith as a baby.

The household really lived a brief stroll away at 22 Gladstone Avenue. That website was marked with a blue plaque in 2016.

Mercury died in 1991 aged 45 because of problems from AIDS. The Mercury Phoenix Belief, a charity arrange after his demise, helps initiatives preventing HIV and AIDS worldwide.
